So, if you have any texts that need translation – whether it's one or more files, small or large, in a mono- or multilingual project – we are ready to assist you.

Our clientele includes large and small companies, as well as public institutions and private customers. We will be happy to help you as well with any language-based requests.

OnLine Translation has a worldwide network of translators, most of which specialize in certain defined subjects or areas. Some prefer to work with technical manuals, while others have gained extensive expertise in translating legal texts or other specialties. We will always strive to match your text with the most qualified translator at the time. Here we need you to select the topic that best describes your text based on our subject suggestions.

Most file formats can be processed:

  • All Microsoft Office file formats
    • Word (.docx)
    • Excel (.xlsx)
    • Powerpoint (.pptx)
  • IDML files (for Adobe InDesign)
  • HTML and XML files
  • PDF files from version 11

The following file formats must be handled manually:

  • PDF files created by an Adobe Writer version older than version 11. Earlier versions of PDF contain text as image only.
  • Scanned images (such as .jpg, .png).

Files that contain text as image cannot be processed automatically, but require a manual word count. If you need a translation of such a file, you may choose to receive a separate quote for this in our order process.

Counted files are the files that you have uploaded here on this page and that have been successfully analyzed. The word count of these analyzed files is shown in the table "FILE SUMMARY". Here you can also see what the price for the translation of each file will be.

Each text you upload on this page will be processed by a professional translator who, after having completed the translation, will read through the result and check for any errors.

It is recommended to have a so-called secondary proofreading carried out by another qualified translator. This is to make sure that any minor flaws in the translation are being eliminated, ensuring the best possible quality. So when the field "Proofreading" is ticked, it means that an additional translator will take a thorough look at the translation with fresh eyes.

How is proofreading done?

Once the translation is completed and checked by the translator, it will be forwarded to the proofreader. The proofreader reads the original text as well as the translation and any reference files, after which they indicate any necessary changes in the translation. When the translator receives the proofread file from the proofreader, the amendments are considered and either accepted or rejected. Any questions will be clarified, and then the project manager is ready to deliver the final version of the translation to you.

What should I choose?

If you need a translation where speed and correct understanding count most, a translation without secondary proofing may be sufficient (for example, for documents used internally in a company).

However, if you need a 100 % perfect translation which, among other things, should represent your business to customers and potential stakeholders, we would definitely recommend you to select "Proofreading".

Particularly in Microsoft Word (but to some extent also in most other file types), formatting is used to achieve the desired appearance or layout of a given text – for example, different fonts, font sizes, columns, tables, fonts or background colors and much more.

If you want the translated text to contain exactly the same formatting as your original file, select "Layout". If you want to adjust the layout of the translated file yourself or if formatting is not required, deselect this option and pay less for your translation.

If you have entered the text for translation directly in the text box or pasted it there, this text will not contain formatting. Therefore, it is not possible to select the option "Layout" here.

If your organisation uses special terminology that you would like the translator to use in order to ensure language consistency, a file with these terms can be attached with a short comment.

In the case of a translation similar to one or more translations that you have had done previously, these may also serve as a reference for the translator in order to meet the customer’s preferred language. Also, images may support the understanding of, for example, manuals, knitting patterns or descriptions of new products.

In the comments box you can also link to your organization's website. Insight into your industry will help the translator to choose the appropriate terms in that context.

Usually translators can handle any texts without you having to send additional material - but it is worth considering.

A translation from OnLine Translation comprises more than just the linguistic service. We always take the complex basis of your immediate language requirement as our starting point and supply integrated solutions that convey your message in the best possible way to the desired target group in terms of content and efficiency. The linguistic and cultural characteristics of the target group are key factors in any translation. In addition, we take the communication situation into account, as well as the format and quality of the text, in conjunction with your requirements in relation to file format and terminology.

All our pages are HTTPS encrypted. We use the same encryption technology as most online banks, webshops and webmail providers. This means that any files you upload on our website are protected and are only viewed by OnLine Translation’s employees.
