WebWordSystem
WebWordSystem is an extremely user-friendly web-based translation tool with integrated termbase and translation memory.
Your company’s specific terms and recurring phrases are registered in the termbase. The termbase is continually updated as the need for new terms arises.
When an employee from your company needs to know your standard translation of a particular term or recurring phrase, it can be found via the Internet no matter where the employee is located.
The system automatically saves all your company’s translations sentence by sentence in the translation memory. Every time a new text is translated, the translation memory grows and your language employees will be better positioned next time they need to translate a text, as the likelihood of matches increases day by day.
Whenever one of your language employees needs to translate a sentence that is identical or almost identical with a previously translated sentence (a segment), the system automatically shows this translation, which can then be edited if necessary. In many cases, translators can save up to 75 per cent of the time spent on a translation when matches are obtained.
Leasing
Via OnLine Translation, your company can lease this innovative translation tool at a very favourable price, which is far lower than the purchase price of other language technological tools on the market.
In addition, you do not have to buy expensive upgrades every time a new version is launched. With WebWordSystem, you are always guaranteed the latest version of the programme at no extra cost.
The company pays a monthly leasing fee for the number of licences it wants to use.
To get started, users just need to install a plug-in (toolbar) in Word and have Internet access. The system itself operates via the Internet, which ensures easy, problem-free knowledge sharing and access for all users of the system.
Applications
OnLine Translation customers can use WebWordSystem in various ways.
If you do not usually produce your own translations, you can choose read-only access to the translations which you commission from OnLine Translation.
If you translate in-house, the system can be a great help to your translators in their daily work and they will be able to see, re-use and benefit from each others’ translations. In addition, you can enter into a closer collaboration with external partners. Both the translators in your company and OnLine Translation’s translators will work in the same system, so that the terminology and language becomes unified, no matter who produces the translation. This is a huge advantage, which ensures that the company’s communication is optimised and becomes as uniform and consistent as possible.
